With a unique style and generous range of standard features, the Civic Hatchback is both economically and aesthetically pleasing. It has been re-fined, re-examined, and re-styled – it’s another exciting step forward in the car’s evolution.
The overall look of the Civic is that of an attractive and streamlined hatchback. LED daytime running lights help to increase the visibility of the vehicle during the day and in low or bad visibility.
The wing mirrors are heated, which can be extremely useful in icy weather, and are electronically adjusted from inside the vehicle. The powerful halogen headlights can be turned off with a timer to ensure that they are never left on accidentally to drain the car’s battery.
The interior of the Civic Hatchback is comfortable and uncluttered, with high-quality fabric seats. There are a range of features that improve the driving experience, including an illuminated glove box, one-touch power windows and climate-controlled air conditioning. The vehicle comes with Honda’s own Magic Seats, which can fold upwards to provide convenient and quick storage space under the rear seats.
The standard 1.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine can achieve an economical 52.3mpg, emitting 129g of CO2 per km. Idle Stop, a system which turns off the engine to save fuel when the car is stationary, is included as standard.
The top speed of the standard 1.4-litre engine is 116.2mph, accelerating from 0-60mph in around 13.4 seconds. Electric power assisted steering helps to make the car more responsive in corners and easier to manoeuvre into tight spaces.
The Honda Civic Hatchback comes with a wide range of safety features as standard, including the City-Brake Active System (CTBA), which detects obstacles and applies the brakes automatically.
For drivers with young children the front passenger airbag has a cut-off switch and the outer rear seats of the car have ISOFIX child seat mountings.
Hill-Start Assist prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards during a hill start and the Emergency Stop Signal automatically turns on the hazard lights when the driver brakes suddenly.
The audio system of the Civic Hatchback has four speaker and includes a USB port for charging phones and other devices. Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel audio controls help to reduce distraction to the driver.
