The return of the Audi A4

With redesigned engines and revamped styling (including a new, hexagonal grille) the all-new Audi A4 has been completely overhauled. The enhancements give the saloon a fresh, modern look for the 2016 model.

Characteristically Audi design cues have been carried over from its predecessor, but have been subtly reworked to enhance the new A4’s renewed confidence. The bold changes result in an Audi car that is faster, more spacious and stronger on efficiency than previous models.

The outward appearance immediately grabs your attention, with the previous A4’s understated front end replaced by a leaner, more purposeful front. The addition of signature LED lighting compounds the assertive look, and the body shaping is more muscular and sculpted than the outgoing car.

Inside, a dashboard with tactile finishes and supportive leather-covered seats shows Audi’s focus on quality. Buyers of the A4 can expect a wide range of new technology, including a new seven-inch touchscreen display and a digital instrument panel complete with 3D satellite navigation.

Changes inside are as attractive as those under the bonnet. There will now be three petrol and four diesel options to choose from, each delivering increased fuel economy and reduced emissions compared to the previous model. You will also be able to couple the engine with a seven-speed S tronic transmission for seamless gear shifts. Opt for the 2.0-litre TDi Ultra to benefit from as much as 72mpg combined in fuel economy. The same diesel engine generates 187bhp to sprint from 0-60mph in under ten seconds.

Steering is now lighter and more natural, working with the five-link front and rear suspension to deliver superb agility through corners. The new A4 is also 120kg lighter compared to the previous version, resulting in even greater manoeuvrability and making the handling more dynamic and reactive.
