The Audi Q7 has been a successful model for the German manufacturer since its debut at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. It has spawned smaller versions and generally dominated the SUV market alongside its established rivals. Today’s generation represents a complete overhaul of the Q7, with striking new looks and the very latest technology fitted as standard.
Among the most notable improvements compared to previous models is the all-new Q7’s incredible weight savings. The SUV weighs 325kg less than its predecessor, which increases efficiency as well as creating a far more agile drive. The Q7 is also slightly narrower than before, and the low-slung stance helps to improve the aerodynamic and purposeful performance.
The latest version of the car boasts totally redesigned exterior styling, dominated by the enormous three-dimensional front grille. Distinctive LED headlights complement the upgraded, modern look, and huge 20-inch alloy wheels accentuate the Q7’s formidable road presence.
Refinement continues inside the luxurious cabin, in which a soft-touch wraparound layout and plush leather seating reinforce the premium feel. Bluetooth connectivity and dual-zone climate control come as standard, helping you to adapt the driving environment to suit your own preferences. With a larger wheelbase, the new Q7 rewards buyers with plentiful leg and head room. The loading area boasts nearly 2,000 litres of space with the second row of seats fully folded.
As the manufacturer is keen to emphasise, the new Q7 is the most technologically advanced yet. Alongside a seven-inch colour touchscreen, the advanced virtual cockpit features a 12.3-inch digital display that replaces the conventional instrument panel. The satellite navigation benefits from 3D graphics that appear on the LCD screen, helping drivers accurately navigate while remaining focused on the road.
Combined with the adaptive air suspension system, the 3.0-litre TDi Quattro diesel engines create a smoother and more reliable ride. Designed with premium comfort in mind, the new Q7 feels confident in even the most challenging environments.
Within the highly capable 4x4, the engines are coupled with an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox that ensures smooth power transfers. Audi’s signature quattro technology applies road-hugging grip to the wheels for optimal traction through bends. As well as impressive pulling power, the Q7 prioritises low emissions, releasing only 47.9 g/km of CO2.
