New Volkswagen Polo GTI in Epsom, Surrey

Available at Drift Bridge Volkswagen, Surrey

The next stage in the story of the enduringly popular Polo continues in 2015 with the debut of the new Volkswagen Polo GTI. The car's sporty nature and more compact shape make it an agile, competitive alternative in the compact class.

Design

Trademark Polo style features mingle with athletic accents and tweaks across the body. The GTI will be offered as a three-door or five-door, with an aggressive front face, racing red stripe and black honeycomb grille. Optional LED headlights and daytime running lights are available for the first time, and the 17-inch alloy wheels bear a new design.

On the inside of the car, the leather-wrapped steering wheel and instrument panel designs are noticeably different from the previous generation. The wheel, gearstick, handbrake and floor mats are all finished in a red stitch to match the exterior design. Heated sports seats are a natural inclusion in the GTI, joined by aluminium-look pedal caps and front central armrest.

Technology

Some of the updated systems within the GTI include a progressive 'Composition Touch' infotainment package, parking assistance and forward-thinking driver assistances. At varying equipment grades the specification will include Bluetooth® connectivity, DAB digital radio, a proximity sensor and smartphone compatibility.

Engines and performance

A high-performance 1.8-litre petrol engine with the Polo GTI cuts the car's 0-60mph time down to within seven seconds. The unit is more powerful than in the previous generation without compromising on efficiency. It partners with an optional six-speed manual transmission, new to your choices with the model.

More details will be revealed in the run-up to the model launch, and orders can be placed now for delivery early next year. Please contact Drift Bridge Volkswagen in Epsom to register your interest in the new Volkswagen Polo GTI.
