Exterior and interior

The Mazda MX-5 is a much-loved head-turner with the latest model boasting a wider, lower stance than its predecessors. With confident good looks and precision aerodynamics, this car is ready to take on the world and is poised for every adventure you throw its way. Combining a lightweight body with rear-wheel drive capabilities, the Mazda MX-5 is raring to go and is more agile than ever before. It’s also beautifully stylish with the option of a folding fabric roof which can be raised and lowered manually, or a folding hard top which power-raises from the press of a button on the dashboard.

Hop inside the cabin and get set to feel the wind through your hair. The premium interior touches are complemented by a plethora of advanced technology which includes a crisp sound system with AM/FM radio, AUX and USB inputs, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, at least six speakers, and a beautiful colour infotainment system. You can also stay connected wherever you go thanks to smartphone mirroring in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Cruise control, air conditioning and satellite navigation are all designed to make every journey a breeze while the leather-wrapped steering wheel adds to the sporty vibe of this racer.

Specifications and safety

As a good-looking, world-leading sports car, the Mazda MX-5 is expected to perform. And perform it does. The newest 2020 model benefits from eco-friendly SKYACTIV technology which reduces emissions and uses braking energy to power electric systems helping to bring the overall running costs down. 1.5 and 2.0-litre petrol engines provide zesty acceleration and a responsive ride with the latter’s power climbing to 182bhp. This cuts nearly a second off the 0-62mph time which can be achieved in 6.5-seconds. The rev limit has also climbed 700rpm to 7,500rpm.

This car is fast and furious with every element of design carefully thought through, including safety. For 2020, the MX-5 Sport adds more i-ACTIVSENSE safety features that include Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support and a Lane Departure Warning System as standard.
