The Mazda CX-5 is smart in every sense of the word. It looks great, it’s loaded with tech, it’s a pleasure to drive and it boasts a quality interior. It comes with diesel, petrol and mild hybrid powertrain options too, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your driving style.

Vehicle variants

Given the name, it’s appropriate that the Mazda CX-5 comes in five trim levels, each offering something a little different.

Centre-Line ● The entry-level Centre-Line grade gets the CX-5 off to an excellent start. Among many other things, it features 17-inch Silver alloy wheels, a range of LEDs, split-folding rear seats and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Newground With the next-tier Newground trim, this SUV sees an upgrade to 19-inch Black Diamond Cut alloy wheels, black mirror shells, a lime-green-accented front grille and a silver-finished under guard and side skirts.
Exclusive-Line The Exclusive-Line grade introduces a power-tilt-and-slide sunroof and a power tailgate, as well as the audiophile delights provided by a 10-speaker Bose sound system.
Homura ● Gloss Black is a keynote feature of the Homura. Door mirrors, front and rear bumper mouldings, wheel arch and side mouldings and Signature wing are all finished in this classy, highly polished tone.
Takumi The top-tier Takumi trim comes with a number of exclusive features, such as distinctive steering-wheel stitching and wood upper dashboard and door card trim.
Interior This five-seater provides front and rear-row occupants with plenty of room to get comfortable. Indeed, leg and headroom are generous in both compartments, ensuring that full-size adults are easily accommodated.
CX-5 comfort Entry-level Centre-Line trims provide the driver with a sliding, reclining, height-adjustable and lumbar-supporting position, making it easy to get comfortable – and rear-row passengers benefit from the inclusion of reclining seats.
Flexibility as standard Thanks to the presence of 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, you’re provided with plenty of passenger-cargo configuration options. Furthermore, in five-seat mode, the CX-5 possesses a 522-litre boot; in two-seat mode, it offers a 1,638-litre load volume.
That’s infotainment A 10.25-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system (with DAB radio), four USB-A/C inputs, Bluetooth connectivity and Android/Apple smartphone integration are all included as standard. Each model features Mazda Navigation too.
Super safe A full five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating is a sure sign of just how safe the CX-5 is. Indeed, the vehicle is packed with protective tech, such as Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Blind-spot Monitoring and Lane-keep Assist System.
Exterior Big, practical and stylish, the CX-5 is everything you could want from a family SUV. Let’s take a look at just some of its many exciting exterior features…
Alloy appeal Whichever trim you choose, the CX-5 rides on stylish alloys: 17-inch sized with entry-level Centre-Line trims, rising to 19-inch versions with the top-tier Takumi grade.
Light fantastic A range of LEDs are fitted as standard, including dusk-sensing Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) headlights. AFS optimises light distribution while automatically adjusting beam intensity, ensuring that it doesn’t dazzle oncoming drivers.
Convenient CX-5 Front and rear-mounted sensors provide welcome parking assistance while rain-sensing wipers react automatically to precipitation. All models are equipped with heated and automatically power-folding door mirrors and rear privacy glass too.
Hands-free tailgate To enjoy the benefits offered by a power tailgate, you might want to consider upgrading to the Exclusive-Line trim. If you do, all you need to do is wave your foot under the rear bumper for the boot to automatically open.
