Mazda produces a wide range of mild hybrid, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles – all of which might seem quite bewildering at first. If you’re a bit tentative about dipping your toes into the electrified motoring market, a mild hybrid such as the CX-5 SUV or a full hybrid like the Mazda2 are good options. This is because they’re both self-charging vehicles.
Alternatively, a plug-in hybrid model – the CX-60, CX-5 or MX-5, for example – produces low CO2 emission and mpg figures. Then there’s the pure-electric MX-30 (also available in plug-in hybrid form), a super-stylish SUV that’s fun to drive and very affordable to run. It produces zero emissions too, which means it's eligible for super-low Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rates – and it’s absolved from city emission charges. It offers a 124-mile range too.
