About the Role: Drift Bridge Volkswagen is seeking a skilled and motivated SMART Repair Technician to join our team at the Epsom Chalkpit Bodyshop. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for precision and a keen eye for detail, looking to deliver high-quality repairs on a variety of vehicles. The position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, with a longer-term plan to transition into a standalone SMART Repair Technician role at our Ewhurst location.

Hours: 45 hour week Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work Saturday Mornings (5 hours) in addition, on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of SMART repair tasks, including stripping, fitting, refurbishment, and part replacement.
• Conduct various types of vehicle repairs, such as respraying, buffing, alloy wheel refurbishment, touch-ups, and internal cosmetic repairs.
• Prepare and prime bodywork to the manufacturer's specifications, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols and the proper use of PPE.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the Bodyshop team and communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
• Take ownership of maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and in optimal working condition.

Skills and Attributes:

• Experience: Proven experience as a SMART Repair Technician within a Bodyshop environment. Experience in prepping, painting, and polishing is essential.
• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of SMART repairs and paint techniques, with the ability to apply this knowledge across various vehicle types.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring that all repairs are completed to an immaculate standard.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and team members, providing clear updates and discussing potential upsell opportunities.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to use initiative and solve problems independently while adhering to company processes.
• Team Player: Able to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive work environment.
• Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
• Health & Safety: Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to the role, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
