Interior Despite its compact shape, the Volkswagen ID.3 features a practical five-door body that provides straightforward access to a roomy five-seat cabin – indeed, it’s a great family car option.
Deceptively big boot All electric cars need somewhere for their electric motor(s) to go, and while the ID.3 stores its motor at the back, this doesn’t impede luggage capacity. In fact, the vehicle features a 385-litre boot which outstrips the Golf’s boot by five litres – and with rear seats dropped, load volume grows to 1,267 litres.
Multimedia in motion Among other things, the ID.3’s standard-issue infotainment features include a 10-inch touchscreen, Discover Navigation Pro, DAB radio, USB ports and Android/Apple smartphone integration.
Five-star safety A five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating is a sure indication of just how safe the ID.3 is. Indeed, it’s packed with driver-assist features, including front and rear parking sensors, a radar sensor-controlled distance-monitoring system, Cruise Control (with Speed Limiter), Lane Assist and Driver Alert System.
Electric power and efficiency A 58kWh battery enables the ID.3’s motor to deliver a range of up to 263 miles. It also facilitates a nippy 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and 5% to 80% charging in 35 minutes (DC3 100 kW). Naturally, the car is very affordable to run and produces zero CO2 and NOx emissions.
Exterior This attractively styled hatchback has proven to be a major asset to young families and socially active singletons alike.
LED illumination All-LED headlights provide exceptional visibility, no matter how dark it gets, and LED daytime running lights ensure that the ID.3 is always easy for other road users to spot. The car is equipped with standard-issue LED taillights too.
Parking assistance Fitted as standard, front and rear-mounted sensors monitor a distance of up to 1.5 metres and are able to detect obstacles that might otherwise be impossible to see with the naked eye.
Charge your way Charge your ID.3 via a three-pin socket or fast-charging wallbox at home or at work – or select your nearest public chargepoint. There are more than 49,800 public devices located across the UK, most of which offer rapid-charging capability.
Colour coordinated Personalise your motoring experience with a colour that matches your personality. Exterior paint finish choices include Glacier White, Moonstone Grey, Stonewashed Blue and Makena Turquoise. Bi-colour styling options are available too, featuring Silver Metallic and Penny Copper, for instance.
