New Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen Tiguan

When choosing a capable family SUV, the least you can expect is one that offers practicality, spaciousness and comfort. Don’t worry, the Volkswagen Tiguan excels in these and many other respects – for instance, it’s very easy to drive and delivers a smooth, quiet ride.

Vehicle variants

It’s only fitting that this accomplished SUV should come in a wide choice of trim levels, from the well-equipped Life to the fully specified R.

Interior Want practicality and space? You got it! In these regards, and many others, the latest-generation Tiguan more than delivers. It’s longer and wider than the previous model, allowing for enhanced leg and headroom in the rear compartment. The back seats slide backwards and forwards too, thus enabling a flexible passenger-cargo balance.
Room for five A car with five seats isn’t necessarily best suited to accommodating five adults. Happily, this isn’t the case with the Volkswagen Tiguan which provides plenty of shoulder room, for instance – and if you happen to have a young family, it’s positively palatial.
Bigger boot In its latest incarnation, this SUV offers more cargo capacity than ever. In fact, a 615-litre boot (non-hybrid variants) is considerably more than is offered by the second-generation Tiguan’s 470-litre boot. It’s also more than can be found in the Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Qashqai and, with rear seats dropped, load volume grows to an impressive 1,655 litres.
Comfort and convenience The Tiguan is replete with clever features, including automatic three-zone climate control, adjustable, lumbar-supporting front seats, and a wide range of storage cubbies. The latter include drawers which are conveniently positioned beneath front seats.
Multimedia highlights Baseline Life grades are equipped with an eight-speaker sound system (with DAB radio) and an eight-inch touchscreen Discover Media navigation system. Wherever you go, you can stream your favourite audio content while remaining internet-connected at all times.
Exterior This practical SUV not only allows easy passenger access, it looks good when parked in the driveway. Actually, it looks good in any scenario, especially as it’s equipped with several desirable standard-issue features.
Agile alloys The entry-level Life trim rides on attractive 18-inch alloy wheels which are not just there to look good, they’re lightweight too, allowing them to contribute towards optimal efficiency and performance.
Intelligent illumination LED headlights adapt automatically to changing light conditions, switching on when dusk arrives, for instance. Also included as standard are LED daytime running lights and LED-enabled taillights.
Room on top While the Tiguan boasts impressive boot capacity, you also have the option to carry items overhead. This is thanks to black roof rails which are included as standard and to which you can affix optional roof bars, bike racks or a roof box.
State of the R The top-tier R trim constitutes the fullest expression of the Tiguan. For instance, it rides on impactful 21-inch Estoril Black, diamond-turned alloy wheels and features a rather splendid R-Line colour-coded rear spoiler.
