Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace

POA

It says a lot about the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace that it’s even more practical than the standard Tiguan model, which is renowned for this very quality. It’s absolutely the case, however, especially when you consider that it comfortably accommodates seven people while offering room to carry copious amounts of shopping.

Vehicle variants

The well-specced entry-level R-Line will be perfectly adequate for many motorists – but if you want even more, Elegance and R-Line grades add extra desirable features.

Interior Because it is longer than the standard model, the Tiguan Allspace is able to accommodate a third row of seats which are ideal for younger passengers or for occasional use by adults. Access to the rearmost row is enhanced by a sliding second row, which also allows for increased luggage capacity.

Capacious boot With the third row of seats folded and the second row pushed forward, there’s 700 litres of load volume at your disposal. This is 85 litres more than is offered by the five-seat Tiguan. With all but the front seats dropped, cargo capacity grows to as much as 1,775 litres.
Comfortable cabin Automatic three-zone climate control (with enhanced air filter and additional rear controls) and adjustable and lumbar-supporting front seats (with armrests) help to deliver a comfortable ride. Meanwhile, in the second row, three adults are easily accommodated. There are touches of luxury too: a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and leather gearshift handle, for instance.
Discover Media Included as standard, a 10.25-inch high-res touchscreen Discover Media navigation system facilitates audio streaming and internet access and features an eight-speaker sound system (featuring DAB radio). Also included are four USB-C inputs and Bluetooth connectivity – and smartphone charging and integration for Android/Apple users.
Five-star protection Awarded a full five-star crash-test rating by Euro NCAP, the Allspace is packed with protective tech. For instance (and in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control), Autonomous Emergency Braking Front Assist warns you of a potential collision with a pedestrian, bike or other vehicles at speeds of up to 130mph. If you’re unable to react in time, automatic braking pressure is applied.

Alloys as standard Baseline Life trims ride on spiffy 18-inch alloy wheels whose lightweight yet durable design offers a distinct advantage over their heavier, inefficient steel counterparts.
LEDs aplenty Automatic LED headlamps provide superb forward visibility while offering the convenience of coming home/leaving home illumination. Separate LED daytime running lights, meanwhile, ensure that the Tiguan Allspace is clearly visible to other road users, and LED taillights emit a distinct, strong light that’s easy to identify.
Roof rails Never underestimate the benefit of standard-issue roof rails. They allow you to attach an optional roof rack or roof box that will enable you to carry even more cargo, such as bikes or camping equipment.
Panoramic sunroof Elegance and R-Line trims feature a glass roof that extends across most of the roof. As well as being an extra-stylish feature, it allows more natural light into the cabin, therefore creating an even airier ambience than already exists.
