The Volkswagen up! is like no other small car. Spirited, edgy and seriously fun, the up! has charisma and drive that knocks spots off of its competitors.
Exterior
All come with alloy wheels, air conditioning and smartphone integration as standard. The ‘Beats’ edition adds a six-speaker sound system with amplifier and subwoofer. The ‘White’ has flashes of modern white paintwork, 16” La Boca white alloy wheels and a white cube dash; or the ‘Black’ edition switches all those white features for black. The ‘R-Line’ features low sports suspension and heated seats, and ‘GTI’ adds 17” alloy wheels and ambient lighting to the mix. With three-door options now available too, you can configure it to achieve your perfect city car.
Interior
The small car status belies the big, bold character of the up! In every way, the up! exceeds expectations. For example, with its surprisingly spacious boot space. Big enough for luggage or a buggy, it’s extremely practical. Inside, USB connectivity and a smartphone navigation interface make every journey more pleasurable and the interior is in line with the quality you would expect from Volkswagen, which is superb. Everything is well assembled and stylish. Statement dashpads and high quality fabrics feature in every edition and, with no less than six available, there is something to suit every personality.
Performance
The up! has the exceptional build you would expect from Volkswagen, with layers of technology and innovations building it up to supreme city car level. From the most economical petrol engine, the 1.0 S/S 65PS with five-speed gearbox, you can expect CO2 emissions of just 117g/km2. For performance, the GTI 1.0 TSI 115 PS with six-speed gearbox is surprisingly powerful and can achieve 0-62mph in just 8.8 seconds.
Safety
The latest edition of the Volkswagen up! has been tailored to ensure it provides the utmost peace of mind for all your little adventures. A selection driver assistance technologies, therefore, can be found throughout, and include such measures as a Traction Control System, Anti-Lock Braking System, rear-view camera, parking sensors and more.
Technology
Key among the technology available in the up! is the free ‘Maps + More’ app that enables you to pair your smartphone with the Composition Colour system via Bluetooth connectivity. This enables you to access satellite navigation, hands-free calling, vehicle performance data, and media streaming for the complete infotainment system out on the road.
